Houston!

I used to go to Houston all the time because my grandmother, my aunt, and several cousins all lived there. However, Houston is a huge and diverse city, so I enjoy any chance I get to see more of it. Which is what the TGS Houston trip allowed me to do. I though Project Row Houses was fascinating and really cool. I did learn some about how one can be an artists and help the community. And of course the idea of message though art. My favorite exhibits were Sugarland and Gentes de Maize which were about sugar production and corn respectively. I though these two exhibits had very strong points about food and consumption. As to the Ensemble theater, I really enjoyed our visit there. I want to go home and watch Blues in the Night because it seemed like a really interesting show and a different take on things. Plus the music and the set were amazing.
As to my personal thoughts, this trip really made me want to go back to Houston because we used to go all the time but we stopped going so often after my grandmother died. I have very little memory of many places in Houston and I would like to refresh my memories of those places. However I found Hard Rock Cafe to be very silly and very loud which made conversation difficult. And it was very much a consumer culture about it which I did not appreciate. But other than that I enjoyed it.
